About me
Kimberly Greder is a Morrill Professor in the Department of Human Development and Family
Studies and Human Sciences Extension State Specialist at Iowa State University. She utilizes a
family systems perspective to understand and foster health and well-being among youth and
families. She provides leadership for multiple Extension and research projects, including a
current CYFAR project that is a collaboration between 4-H and Health and Human Sciences
Extension (Fostering Youth Career and College Readiness), ¡Salir Adelante! Caminos a Nuestro
Futuro is an extension curriculum that embeds a family approach to helping youth reach their
hopes and dreams for education, and the Rural Iowa Family Health Project is a longitudinal study
focused on the health and well-being of over 200 rural families who have low incomes. She has
secured $7 million in grants and contracts to support her extension programming and research,
and published 225 scholarly products.
