About me
Kimberly Greder, Morrill Professor of human development and family studies and state extension specialist at Iowa State University, is a nationally recognized leader, extension specialist, and researcher dedicated to strengthening family and community capacity to enhance family health and well-being. She utilizes a systems perspective to examine and promote health and well-being among rural, low-income families, and in particular among first generation Latino families. She leads the Iowa Latino Family Health Project, a longitudinal study focused on the mental and physical health and well-being of Latino immigrant families, including their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has developed and led nationally recognized programs that create substantial change including Salir Adelante: Pathways for Our Future, a program that provides education and support to Latino families as they navigate the US education system and pursue hopes and dreams for their children.
